What's new in Taskie 2.7.0 Desktop app, meeting rooms, and access control

Version 2.7.0 introduces the Taskie desktop app for Mac, Windows, and Linux, so you can capture a task from any app with a single shortcut. Alongside it, tasks get online meeting rooms, task descriptions gain version history and comparison, Google Drive and Dropbox files attach without uploading, video and design links play inside the editor, and forms and channels get finer access control. Slack and Discord also join the messenger bots.

Highlights

  1. The Taskie desktop app is here.

For Mac, Windows, and Linux: get it from the "Download" page and capture tasks without opening a browser.

  2. Create a task from any app with one shortcut.

A global shortcut opens a small window; type one line, press Enter, and the window closes.

  3. The same familiar Taskie typing on desktop.

@ for project, # for label, ! for priority, and plain-language dates like "tomorrow at 5" are all recognized in the same line.

  4. Keep writing even without internet.

If the network is down, the task waits in a queue and is sent automatically as soon as you're back online; nothing gets lost.

  5. A list of devices connected to your account.

See in settings which phones and computers are connected to your account, and revoke access for each one separately.

  6. Create an online meeting room right on a task.

Create a Zoom, Google Meet, or Jitsi link with one click; the link is announced in the project channel and also shows up in the calendar.

  7. Task descriptions get history and comparison.

See earlier versions of a description, compare the differences, and restore any version.

  8. Task descriptions are always ready for typing.

No need to click the text to edit anymore; the cursor lands exactly where you aimed.

  9. Manage logged time from the task itself.

The list of time entries appears next to the manual entry form, and you can delete any row.

  10. Google Drive and Dropbox files attach without uploading.

The file stays in that service and doesn't count against your workspace storage.

  11. Video and design links play inside the editor.

Paste a YouTube, Figma, Loom, Miro, or other supported link to get a player instead of a plain link.

  12. Make forms private.

Choose who can respond to each form: everyone, workspace members, project members, a specific list, or anyone with a shared password.

  13. Posting in a channel can be restricted.

You can create a channel where only admins or selected people post, and everyone else can only read.

  14. Slack and Discord join Taskie's bots.

Commands, notifications, and account linking now work in Slack and Discord too.

  15. Quick sign-in from Telegram.

The mini app signs you in without a password, you can sign up with your phone number, and the /start menu is now paginated.

  16. Build mind maps with just the keyboard.

Create branches with Tab and Enter, duplicate with Ctrl+D, and copy and paste branches as text.

  17. Key fixes in this release.

Deleting a project now removes its tasks too; bot lists show only open work; dates in your calendar system are saved correctly in the bot; and the time total updates after you stop the timer.
