What's new in 2.11.1
Version 2.11.1 makes task references in comments clickable and removes unconfigured meeting services from the lists.
Version 2.11.1 is a small maintenance release. Two changes are visible to you: task references in comments are now clickable, and the list of meeting services only shows options that are ready to use on this installation. The rest of the changes are internal and don't affect your day-to-day work.
Open a task from inside a comment
When you write a comment, you can reference another task with the "#" character; that task's title appears as a chip in the comment. Until now, the chip was only a text marker and clicking it did nothing. Starting with this release, clicking it opens the referenced task.
The new task opens on top of the current one, not in its place. So when you're done with the second task and close it, you return to exactly the task you came from, without having to find it again.
- Your half-written comment and your scroll position in the first task are kept, so you pick up right where you left off.
- Up to three tasks can be open on top of each other; if you click a reference in the second task too, a third level opens.
- Each press of Esc closes only one level and takes you one step back.
- Clicking the close button works the same way, so you don't lose anything.
- The page URL still points to the task you opened first, so sharing the page link doesn't change.
This works the same everywhere the task window opens: the project list and table, My tasks, the Inbox, All tasks and dashboard widgets.
Unconfigured meeting services are hidden
Taskie supports several online meeting services, but not every Taskie installation has all of them configured. Until now, an unconfigured service still appeared in the lists, and choosing it led to an error. Now a service is only offered when it's both enabled and has its connection keys set up.
- The meeting picker on a task only shows services that are ready.
- The App Center also only offers those services for connecting.
- The Create meeting action in automation is limited to the same list.
- If no meeting service is ready on this installation, the meetings section isn't shown on tasks at all.
Rooms you've already created stay untouched: you still see them on their task and can join them. The only thing removed is the option to create a new room with a service that's no longer ready.
Note: If you used a service before and no longer see it in the list, its configuration on this installation is incomplete. Ask your workspace admin to check that service's settings.
If you don't see the changes
Refresh the page once so the new version loads. If comment references still don't open when clicked, or the meeting list hasn't updated, contact your workspace admin or Taskie support.
A short list of the changes is also on the version 2.11.1 changelog page.
